Teacher Training

You’ve been practicing yoga for a while now. You’re craving more than just a library of poses and class scripts — you want to understand the why.

You’re curious about teaching (maybe now, maybe one day, maybe just how it happens and the thought behind it.)

You want to learn from grounded teachers who don’t care if you can do a handstand.

You want a training that honors both tradition and modern wisdom.

You want to learn how to teach all aspects of yoga, not just choreographing sets of poses. You don’t want surface-level. You want meaning.

Deepen your practice. Teach with confidence. Return to yourself.

The Heart of Wisdom Yoga 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is a Yoga Alliance-registered training that introduces you to the history of yoga, builds a foundation for teaching Hatha yoga in the Vinyasa style, and provides you with an anatomical lens to teaching modern yoga.

This training is rooted in the wisdom of Hatha yoga with the addition of Vinyasa sequences and theory and philosophy from Hatha, Vinyasa, and Katonah traditions. We emphasize teaching in a trauma-informed way and share methods for teaching a wide range of students safely.

  • Have been practicing consistently for at least 6 months

  • Are ready to deepen your understanding of yoga beyond the poses

  • Crave a trauma-informed education rooted in anatomy

  • Want to teach — or simply want to study yoga more deeply for your own growth

This training is for you if you:

Now enrolling for Fall 2025:
August 17 to December 13

Most yoga trainings focus on what to teach. We care about why you teach, how you teach, and who you're becoming in the process.

  • Yoga history + how it evolved (and was diluted) in the West

  • Asana breakdowns rooted in real anatomy + biomechanics

  • How to teach diverse bodies with creativity and care

  • Meditation, pranayama, and the eight limbs in practice—not just theory

  • Sequencing that feels intelligent, safe, and inspired

  • The business of yoga and how to teach in studios, privates, or on your own

Our training blends Hatha, Vinyasa, and Katonah Yoga® with trauma-informed teaching principles.

Anatomy isn’t an add-on. It’s the foundation.

What you’ll learn:

What past students say about this training…

  • “I believe Heart of Wisdom Yoga School to be the most carefully constructed and mindfully curated 200 hour training in the Nashville area. I will never be able to say enough good things about my experience and how well I was prepared to begin to teach. Kim is so thoughtful in her approach and so well prepared and generous with her knowledge. I am grateful that a yoga school like this exists.”

  • “The HOW Yoga Teacher Training is the perfect marriage of the science of the body, the deep heritage of yoga, and the exploration of the self.”

  • “My 200 hour at HOW Yoga School was an amazing, holistic experience. Kim is a great leader and teacher, and her focus on anatomy and providing space for your students was core to my learning and in turn, teaching.”

  • “If you're considering yoga teacher training, go for it! It's a transformative journey that deepens your practice and connects you to your mind, body, and soul. Choose a teacher who inspires you—someone like Kim, who beautifully blends anatomy, mindfulness, history. The supportive community you'll find in training is invaluable, as they’ll be there to help you grow and share the experience. Teacher training should be more than teaching shapes—and this one is about learning how to embody yoga in every aspect of your life.”
