Ode To Joy
A Katonah Yoga Inspired Weekend
with Kim Struglinski, Allie Jaffe, and Gabrielle Johnson
June 20-22, 2025 in Nashville, TN
Note: all times listed in Central time zone
Welcome to the Katonah Yoga Foundations and Katonah-inspired immersion you’ve been waiting for! Join us on a three day quest to dive into theory, practice, application and integration. Learn how to tune your instrument (you!) so that you can play well with the orchestra (your community!)
Katonah Yoga combines asana and pranayama from a range of Hatha yoga styles with Daoist philosophy and modern knowledge of practices for longevity. Or to put it simply: Katonah Yoga is a sustainable practice for sparking joy.
Created by Nevine Michaan in Katonah, NY, this practice uses metaphor and analogy to weave together body, breath, and imagination. We identify the body as the abode, exploring the body as one’s instrument, the mind as the musician and the breath as the melody. The power of analogy allows the individual to use life experiences to define the personal and understand the collective.

Meet your teachers
Allie, Gabrielle, and Kim connected through Katonah Yoga, despite living in three different cities. Kim and Allie were in the same round of the Katonah Yoga Mentorship, and Kim and Gabrielle had mutual friends from their shared time in Nashville and had also connected through HOW Yoga while Gabrielle lived in Nashville.
The trio became fast friends after spending a week in Katonah, NY at the mothership (Katonah Yoga Collective) in May 2024. They have been teaching for nearly three decades combined, have hundreds of hours of study in various yoga traditions, and thousands of hours of teaching experience. But most importantly, they are all lifelong learners and committed to studying this practice that has so fundamentally changed each of their lives, and are excited to share the joy of Katonah Yoga with you!

“A well rounded practice supports a well rounded life.”
Allie brings a lighthearted, exploratory, encouraging energy to all of her classes. While integrating accessible ways to apply Yoga “in the wild”, she enables students to intelligently observe how they move, breathe and think so that they are empowered to fully participate in any class, develop a home practice, and truly find the ritual and insight through repetition.
Allie is a certified Katonah Yoga® teacher. This life enhancing methodology is woven through all of her classes.
Allie also has over 400 hours of certification in Awakening Yoga, learning directly from the creators of this modern Hatha Vinyasa based practice, Patrick Beach and Carling Harps. She also works in a 1:1 setting with students and teachers to develop their practice and/or fine tune their teaching.
Gabrielle Johnson
Gabrielle has been teaching yoga for 14 years. She has trained with Nikki Estrada, Rod Stryker, Jason Crandell, Annie Carpenter, Ally Bogard, Kyle Miller and Josie Schweitzer.
Her influences come from vinyasa yoga, Katonah yoga, Hatha and viniyoga, various embodiment and inquiry practices and functional exercise. Her wish is that we use the tools of the practice to be able to take up more space and serve our communities well.
